I ~~would~~ might use Google Buzz if all of these were true:

I used Gmail’s web site.
I used Google Reader’s web site.
Anyone else I knew used either or both.

I use Apple Mail on both Mac and iPhone, so I don’t see Gmail’s built in chat or buzz pane or use Google contacts.

I do use Google Reader’s mobile site on iPhone, but not that often. NetNewsWire on Mac. Thus I can’t Share items to my Buzz page.

These are details, though. I could start using the websites. I think I’m pretty nimble when it comes to what web services and software I use. And eventually there could be integration with current desktop/iPhone applications or maybe standalone apps.

But I just don’t know anyone who has and uses Gmail or Google Reader regularly. Facebook and Twitter and Tumblr have the community. Google (among the people I know) doesn’t.

A Mac application to create Fogbugz tickets. Worth it just for the dead-simple attachments pane.

Three small nitpicks:

That’s a really weird-looking reload button in the toolbar. I can’t tell what does. It… reloads something?
The toolbar button says “Send” but the item in the File menu and its keyboard shortcut (command-s) say “Save”. It should be Send, and it should be under the Ticket menu. “Sending” is a better metaphor for uploading to Fogbugz. “Saving” is what you do for local drafts.
Clicking the icon in the dock when there’s no window open should open a new ticket window.

This is a good example of not doing too much. Tickets does not view, edit, or append to existing Fogbugz tickets — it focuses on adding new ones and that’s it.

This automator action converts the selected text into speech (much faster than realtime, but not exactly instantly) and creates an AIFF file of it. I’m pretty sure it’s just doing this terminal command:

say "sample text that goes on and on" -o audio.aiff

I say “pretty sure” because this is total speculation and I can’t find any evidence to support it. It’s just that they seem to do the exact same thing in about the same amount of time. And Apple isn’t usually big on having multiple different ways to do the same exact thing.

How is it doing this? Where does this automator action call this command, if that’s what it’s doing?

There are no executables. Many other automator actions have executables. Why not this one? There are several property lists, but according to Spotlight none of them have the word “say”. There is a binary nib for each of 19 different languages, though. Could they have embedded a command in the nib? Is that possible? If so, wouldn’t it be wasteful to have the same exact command in 19 different places?

This is the stuff I try to figure out at 11:30 at night.
